Rich, the mastermind behind The Smart Sales Solution™ process, has a stellar track record of motivating others to achieving their highest potentials. Individuals and groups have brought their personal and business lives to a whole new level by using the tools and disciplines in Rich’s coaching.
Over 28 years, his experience ranges from being a top sales performer himself, to building sales teams and systems from the ground up for a variety of organizations.
As his own career in sales developed, Rich discovered two important truths about sales performance: First, he learned it wasn’t enough to have God-given aptitude, or to be willing to work hard; delivering consistently high numbers required a holistic, systematic approach. Second, a balanced personal life was not only desirable, but actually a critical ingredient in meeting one’s business goals.
Those two principles, combined with the application of solid, time-tested sales tools and techniques, guided Rich in the creation of a unique performance-growing process that made him not only much wealthier… but much happier. Over time, he found that he got tremendous satisfaction from helping others achieve their own successes, and that he had a gift for it. He also discovered that there was a huge demand in the small business market for first-rate but affordable business growth services. Thus was born Smart Sales Solutions®, a company dedicated to helping people like you achieve financial and personal success.
Rich has been married to his lovely wife since 1988, and they’re currently in the process of raising three wonderful kids, a girl and two boys. Rich’s enjoyment of his family, and his commitment to them, give daily reinforcement to his belief in the importance of being more efficient at work in order to dedicate more time to family. He is also a man of strong Christian faith, who has incorporated a strong sense of integrity and moral values into his professional life.
For Rich, the bottom line is about people; he loves to impact lives and make a difference, one person at a time.

Tim Nihoul – Sales Coach/Trainer

Tim entered the world of the self-employed at the ripe old age of 13 when he and his brother bought a dairy distributorship from their sister. They operated this business until January of 1965. It provided the income to purchase many fun things as well as providing the funds to start college.
After graduation from Washington State University in June of 1969, Tim was commissioned as an Army Officer and served in Germany, Vietnam and at various posts in Virginia and Kentucky.
After eight years as an Army officer, Tim owned and operated an insurance agency in Othello, Washington. He then moved to Olympia in 1982 and went into the business of recruiting and training agents as an independent contractor with Farmers Insurance. During this time he earned industry designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Seventeen years of that was enough, and in January of 2000 he sold that business.
Using the knowledge acquired, he has been actively coaching small business owners, as well as, owners of home-based businesses throughout the world on improving their operations and bottom line performance.
Tim and his wife Joyce, are fulfilling their dream of living in Central Oregon, traveling the world, and providing private-school educations for their grandchildren. What really excites them is that along the way they will help hundreds of other people realize dreams they have thought impossible.

Rick Childers - Sales Coach/Trainer

Rick comes to Smart Sales Solutions with 27 years of experience helping people to live more fulfilled and successful lives. At age 17, Rick knew he would spend his life helping others improve their lives. After graduating from Vanguard University in 1987, Rick became an ordained minister and dedicated his life to the purpose of training others to reach their full spiritual potential through deepening their faith. Much of his time was spent coaching young people, counseling families, as well as training and developing leaders. His heart for people and his passion to help others reach their life goals has motivated Rick throughout his career.
In 2002 Rick entered the financial industry as a Financial Advisor. He had the opportunity to build his business from the ground up and has won numerous sales and production awards along the way. During his years as a Financial Advisor, he became a field trainer and has been instrumental in helping others to build successful businesses of their own.
Rick married his high school sweetheart in 1984, and they have one son. They live in Bend, Oregon and are very involved in serving their community. Rick’s strong commitment to faith and integrity; his many years of experience as a counselor and trainer, along with his expertise in the financial industry make him a great addition to our Smart Sales Solutions team.

The leader in product development and research in the area of behavior and values as well as the creator of the first fully validated computerized behavior assessments, has awarded Rich Rudnick the credentials of Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA).
To receive this award, Rich demonstrated proven application experience and passed an intensive three-hour examination on analysis and interpretation of the D.I.S.C. assessment reports.
